Hanover Presbyterian Church’s commitment to justice is core to its identity and understanding as followers of Jesus Christ. Beginning with the ancient texts of the faith, God’s people have given both voice and witness to the prophet Micah’s calling to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God.
We live into these ideals by participating in many projects for the good of the community throughout the year.
Vacation Bible School is one of the high points of our year. During that raucous event, the children raise money for a special mission project. The kids give with great enthusiasm to organizations that provide clean water, mosquito netting and medical supplies to countries in need.
Through the Presbyterian Church (USA) we give as a congregation to the Peacemaking, Pentecost, Christmas Joy and One Great Hour of Sharing Offerings.
The Women’s Association contributes most of their yearly income, through fundraising efforts, to various local and world mission programs.
Our youth and some adults raise money and participate in the CROP walk in October.
During the Christmas season, the congregation gives to various mission programs in addition to helping Licking Valley families in need.
There are many needs, both locally and worldwide, and Hanover Church has heard the call to be the hands and feet of Christ on Earth.
Mission and Peacemaking Leadership Team
The Mission and Peacemaking committee works to promote four special offerings received by the PC (USA) each year. They help promote mission giving both locally and worldwide, and provide an educational “Minute for Mission” during Worship. They also assist with the VBS and Christmas mission projects. To become a part of this growing ministry, contact John Gwin or Pastor Brian.
